Do I have to provide written contracts of employment?
 

No but an employer does need to supply an employee with a written statement containing certain details of his employment within two months of starting work.

Some details must be set out in one document. These details include (but are not limited to):

  • the names of the employee and employer
  • the dates when continuous employment began
  • remuneration
  • working hours
  • entitlement to notice of termination
  • a note specifying any procedure applicable to the employee in the taking of disciplinary decisions
