We act for businesses in the sectors of oil & gas, mining, renewable energy and agriculture, including many which are listed on the London Stock Exchange's Main Market and AIM.

Our experience in consulting, drilling, farm-in, operating, joint venture, participation and other contracts essential to the oil & gas and mining industries extends to mineral and hydrocarbon licensing and permitting in jurisdictions around the world, including the UK North Sea.

English law is regularly the governing law on international transactions in the energy sector, and we have acted on numerous acquisitions, disposals and joint ventures. We also have considerable experience advising on public and private financings for both institutions and issuers.

It is also an area where shareholder and joint venture  disputes are increasingly common, due in part to the political instability in jurisdictions where the underlying assets are often located. Our dispute resolution and corporate governance specialists are routinely called on to advise on these matters, which they do with the added benefit of industry knowledge that every one of our team members has.
