Fox Williams LLP acted for Rapid Action Packaging Limited (“RAP”), a leading provider of environmentally sustainable packaging, on a further investment of £3.5 million by Ludgate Environmental Fund Limited (“LEF”).

RAP specialises in the design, manufacture and supply of innovative, cost effective and environmentally responsible packaging systems particularly for the “food on the move” marketplace. Its customer list encompasses most of the UK’s large supermarkets and some of the world’s leading fast food companies. The funds will be used to purchase additional machinery to enable RAP to meet strong customer demand.

LEF invests in late stage companies within the cleantech sector in the UK and Continental Europe, and, as at 30 June 2011, had approximately £59m of assets.

Fox Williams Corporate Partner, Steve Barnett, commented: “We are delighted to have assisted RAP with this significant further round of funding. This transaction highlights our experience and commitment, as a firm, to advising growing businesses within the technology sector, where cleantech applications are becoming ever more prominent”.

Steve Barnett (Partner) and Tom Rowley (Associate) of Fox Williams’ private equity and venture capital team advised RAP.
