From a professional view

Steve Barnett is a partner in Fox Williams' Corporate department and advises on a broad range of corporate transactions.  He specialises in corporate finance work, including mergers and acquisitions, private equity/venture capital and joint ventures, with many transactions having a technology focus.  He is also an active member of the firm's ebusiness group and private equity group.

Steve graduated from Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge University in 1992 with a degree in Law and went on to take the Law Society Finals Examination at the College of Law in York. He qualified in September 1995, and joined Fox Williams in June 1999. Outside the firm, Steve is also a member of the International Association of Young Lawyers (AIJA), and an active contributor to the AIJA's, M&A comission, as well as a member of the Legal and Technical Committee of the British Business Angels Association.

Steve was promoted to partnership in August 2008.

From a personal view

Prior to joining Fox Williams, Steve took a break from legal practice and spent 3½ months travelling through Vietnam and Southern Africa.  The arrival of his children has curtailed this somewhat... his traveling is now of the armchair variety and confined to reading Wanderlust magazine.
