Corporate Governance

Meet the team News stories

Corporate governance compliance is vital to the future success of your business. The board and the individuals comprising it are key drivers of the company. They are responsible for devising and carrying out policies and decisions which determine the underlying success of the company for its shareholders and relevant stakeholders. They have to perform these diverse roles in a legal framework that continues to evolve. Trying to interpret and implement the plethora of international corporate governance rules, regulations and best practice can be a difficult task. This does not need to be the case.

Our Corporate Governance Group will provide you with clear and simple strategic advice. Led by Gavin Foggo, it employs a multi-disciplinary approach involving lawyers from corporate, employment and litigation practice areas, who are able to advise boards, committees, executive and non executive directors and senior HR professionals on a variety of day-to-day business issues.  For example, this includes advice on:

  • directors duties and liabilities
  • compliance with Higgs Review and Combined Code on Corporate Governance
  • remuneration
  • diversity, discrimination and recruitment
  • shareholder agreements

Lawyers in our Corporate Governance Group are regularly invited to speak on corporate governance issues at external seminars and conferences throughout the UK. They are also frequently quoted in the trade and national press.

Moreover, our close relationships with overseas law firms, enables us to appreciate that there is a proliferation of international and national regulations particularly emanating from the US.  If required, we can successfully tap into this pool of expertise for the benefit of our clients.

If you would like to find out how we can help you, please contact Gavin Foggo.
