Become part of our team

What makes us different?

Our clients expect a personal approach to their legal business needs and, you should expect the same personal approach towards your career development at Fox Williams.

From your very first encounter with us, you will start to see what we mean by a personal approach towards career development.

We have introduced a competency framework based on four key areas of professional competence called “the Skill Standards”.  The Skill Standards seek to clarify and communicate the skills and behaviours we value as a firm; this applies to everyone.  Our thorough development review process complements this approach and ensures that you get the opportunity to discuss and agree your development needs on a regular basis.

Although our standard interview process is based on our Skill Standards, you will also typically have the opportunity to meet with members of your future team and chat informally over coffee or a drink, once you have accepted an offer from us.

We already have a structured, firm-wide training programme covering key legislative changes, as well as tailored programmes to support individuals in line with the skills standards.  Regular general interest seminars are held by internal and external speakers through a variety of training media.

This approach ensures our learning and development is not only aligned to our business objectives, but will enable you to see how training will support your individual development as your career progresses with us.

Getting down to business

In your day-to-day work, you can expect to have huge amounts of direct contact with clients from the outset.  We positively encourage you to develop strong client relationships through networking opportunities and utilising the skills practiced in our learning and development programme.  In addition, you will benefit from a close working relationship with your colleagues and of course the partner that you work for, allowing you to develop as both a lawyer and business professional.

Diversity and Inclusion

The firm is committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive culture.

We are proud of our dynamic, creative and diverse workforce and want to attract the most talented individuals to join us. We strongly believe that diversity is critical to our success as a business: a more diverse workforce encourages fresh thinking, new perspectives and different approaches to our clients’ issues.

Our People: “We treat each other as we would want to be treated: with respect.”

“Our People” is the centre of our core values and we seek to understand and celebrate what makes each of us unique. We are committed to ensuring that each individual is valued, respected and treated fairly at work. As part of that commitment, we also focus on the physiological and psychological health and wellbeing of our staff.
