Friendly, Strong Relationships

We encourage all team members to create friendly, strong relationships with colleagues and clients alike. In whatever role you undertake, you will benefit from a close working relationship with your colleagues and the partners you work with, allowing you to develop as a lawyer or business professional. If you join us as a lawyer, you will have direct contact with clients from the outset - we want you to get to know our clients and genuinely understand their business, as well as their legal issues; it’s how we deliver our great client service.

Our commitment to enabling the friendly, strong relationships you will make with your colleagues comes to life through our active Social & Charity Committee – whether it is the 3 peaks challenge, playing for the Foxcatchers netball team or our cricket and football teams, cocktail making, the London Legal Walk or quiz nights to name a few - there are a variety of activities for everyone to get involved with all year round. Each department also hosts its own social events to build stronger team relationships.

Most importantly, we share in our collective and individual success, both professional and personal, for example, through our Great Client Service Awards.

Integrity and professionalism

We believe everyone should act with absolute integrity and professionalism in their role. Our Skill Standards clarify our expectations for the various roles and levels across the firm. Performance review meetings take place at least twice a year to discuss your performance and for us to be clear about how you believe we can best support your career development.

Our Professional Development Programme tailors our training for the soft skills we believe are important at the various levels and roles we each hold across the firm. In addition, we offer technical training specific to the role or department. This is often delivered through department/sector-specific programmes and we encourage attendance at external training where relevant.

Continuous learning and knowledge sharing are a core part of how we grow as professionals and the integrity we demonstrate in the delivery of everything that we do, to ensure the firm’s continued success.

Open Communication is encouraged across the firm through our open-door policy, our monthly Senior Partner Report (which includes firm financial performance information and department news), firm-wide quarterly drinks, bi-annual employee forums, regular departmental meetings and updates on our Intranet. It’s important we all know how we are doing and where we are going.
