Dispute Resolution for fashion

Should the worst happen and your business is involved in a dispute relating to manufacture, distribution or retailing, we will seek to resolve it, whether at a domestic or international level.

Currently, we are advising on an acrimonious shareholder dispute for a leading retail fashion brand and on the termination of distribution contract and recovery of monies owed, but our experience also extends to:

  • Negotiation - We are skilled and experienced negotiators, being as tough or conciliatory as the circumstances require.
  • Mediation - Mediation is a way of settling disputes using a neutral third party.  We are strong supporters of mediation as an effective way of obtaining quick and commercially sound settlements, and have a track record of successfully resolving disputes in this way.
  • Litigation  - We have represented clients in numerous complex and high-profile cases in the High Court and Court of Appeal.  All of our senior lawyers are Solicitor-Advocates and are specifically trained to manage the litigation process in a pragmatic and cost-effective manner.
  • Arbitration - Arbitration is often used as an alternative to court litigation, especially for international disputes.  It can be quicker than court proceedings and allows the parties to keep their dispute private.  We have expertise in LCIA, ICC, UNCITRAL, LMAA and ICSID arbitrations, as well as ad hoc arbitrations.

We also advise on litigation funding options for commercial disputes.  We have all the necessary expertise to advise our clients on what funding options are currently available for commercial cases, and which would best suit their particular circumstances. We have good relationships with the major players in the market and are well-placed to assist in obtaining the best funding available.
