  • Advised a leading UK warranty provider on its new employment policies and procedures for all of its staff in the UK.
  • Advising FSA authorised firms on the implementation of the Remuneration Code principles into their remuneration structures and employment contracts.
  • Advised a senior banker on his departure from a leading financial institution and the establishment of his new hedge fund.
  • Advised the UK business of a leading overseas bank in connection with a claim by a deaf employee that she was harassed during her employment, that reasonable adjustments were not made to assist her career and that she was selected for redundancy after 24 years employment on grounds of her disability.
  • Successfully defended a sex discrimination (maternity related) and unfair dismissal claim made against a specialist insurance and reinsurance underwriting group.
  • Successfully defended claims against a leading insurance firm for sex discrimination, religious discrimination and whistleblowing by a former in-house accountant. The discrimination claims were also made against the former employee’s manager and the religious discrimination again raised a novel point in that both the line manager and the claimant have the same religion but one was practising and the other not. 
  • Advised applicant firms and the individuals seeking approval in their applications for approved person status with the FSA, including several high-profile authorised firms in recruiting senior executives
  • Achieved significant success for a senior executive securing a seven figure compensation package for a former employee of a Sovereign Wealth Fund. 
  • Acted for Vestra Wealth in the landmark High Court team move case of UBS v Vestra Wealth
  • Conducted the defence of an equal pay and sex discrimination claim for a FTSE-250 investment company.
  • Advised an inter-dealer broker on negotiating complex remuneration packages for senior brokers and advising on redundancy issues.
  • Advised the UK entities of two overseas banks on a wide range of advisory work including redundancies, long-term health issues, allegations of gross misconduct
  • Advised senior banker on his departure from a leading financial institution and the establishment of his new corporate finance boutique.
  • Advised a US listed investment bank on the employment aspects of setting up their new London office.
  • Advising a brokerage house in relation to the restrictive covenants of a new employee joining from a competitor.
  • Advised Raphael Geys following the termination of his employment by Societe Generale and in his subsequent successful claim against the bank.
  • Acted for a specialist insurance and reinsurance underwriting group in successfully defending allegations of disability discrimination brought by an employee dismissed for gross misconduct.
  • Advising individual traders of an international investment firm relating to alleged serious breaches of the code of conduct for approved persons and related criminal investigation by City of London Police
