Fox Williams acted for CRU Kafe on its recent funding round where an undisclosed sum was raised from a number of Angel Investors.

CRU Kafe is a start-up that sources completely organic, fair-trade coffee and packages it in eco-friendly Nespresso compatible pods. They sell their coffee pods both domestically and internationally. CRU Kafe have recently begun selling coffee pods using beans grown on a 140-year-old plantation on the San Cristobal Island of the Galapagos where, by local law, only 5,000 bags are allowed to be exported per year – they believe this is the most expensive coffee pod on the market. CRU Kafe will also be running a pop-up shop throughout the summer on the London Riviera.

Richie Clark, Head of Corporate at Fox Williams, commented: “We were first instructed by CRU Kafe when they were starting up almost 18 months ago. Since then they’ve gone from strength to strength, and this investment will no doubt help them grow further.”

Richie Clark and corporate associate Elliot Cowan led the transaction for Fox Williams

Colin Pyle, Co-Founder and CEO of Cru Kafe said: “You never know if a raise is going to be straight forward and quick or a bit complicated and drawn out. As a start-up it has been great having Fox Williams on our team from the beginning to help us navigate this process. They are incredibly understanding and willing to work within the constraints of a startup and realise that keeping fees under control and cash flow are the two primary concerns for a small business.”
