Fox Williams continues to win high praise from the independent legal directories. The ‘astute, commercial’ and ‘extremely effective’ firm was acknowledged in a total of 29 areas.

In Chambers, the firm has sustained its top band ranking for departments Partnership and Partnership: Large International Structures, with chair of the firm Tina Williams recognised as a ‘Star Individual.’ Chambers notes that the team provides “high-end, pragmatic advice,” with one interviewee commenting, “they staff matters according to the needs of the client, which is very pragmatic and tailored to the job.” Swift responsiveness is also identified as a signature quality of the practice. “They were available when we needed them, provided prompt turnaround and stuck to deadlines.”

Fox Williams is ranked in seven more departments, including Corporate/M&A: Lower Mid-Market, Employment: Employer, Employment: Senior Executive, Real Estate: Lower Mid-Market, Commercial Contracts, Financial Services: Contentious Regulatory (Individuals) and Financial Services: Contentious Regulatory (Corporates).

Sixteen of the firm’s lawyers were ranked across 15 different departments, with Gavin Foggo, Liz Ruff, Stephen Sidkin and Tina Williams all recognised as top rank in their fields. Corporate senior associate Mary Elliott is also recognised as an ‘Associate to watch.’

In The Legal 500, published last month, the firm is ranked in 20 practice areas* and has retained number one ranking for each of Corporate and commercial: partnership, and Corporate and commercial: M&A smaller deals up to £50m. Fox Williams has moved up a tier in both Flotations: small and mid-cap, and Human Resources: senior executives. Recognising the capabilities of the Fox Williams team, the firm also has entries in two new sections – FinTech, and Real Estate: hotels and leisure. Tina Williams, Jane Mann and Gavin Foggo are each recognised as leading individuals and there are new recommendations for Sona Ganatra, who was promoted to the partnership in May, and for Guy Morgan and David Butler, each of whom joined as partners this year.

Client comment in The Legal 500 recognises the firm’s ‘responsive, client-oriented’ tier one M&A team, which is ‘practical’ and ‘good value for money’. It also ‘works well with in-house teams’, and has a ‘hugely helpful understanding of early-stage businesses’. The top ranked Partnership department is commended for being ‘absolutely superb’ in drafting partnership arrangements, increasingly on the international stage.
