Employers are often aware of the legal rights relating to pregnancy and maternity, paternity and shared parental leave, yet recent research found that “one in five mothers said they had experienced harassment or negative comments related to pregnancy or flexible working from their employer and/or colleagues”.

Fathers are struggling with financial considerations, cultural restraints and a lack of awareness preventing them from taking their entitlement to family friendly leave. This has resulted in just 2% of companies seeing a significant uptake in Shared Parental Leave.

This HRLaw training webinar, held on Thursday 15 March,  focused on specific examples and asked how should an employer respond to prevent claims of discrimination.

The sessions were delivered by Selwyn Blyth, our training consultant, in partnership with members of Fox Williams’ leading employment team.
