Fox Williams has won the Advisory Firm of the Year Award at the AltFi Awards 2019. In a new category open to legal, consulting, marketing and accounting firms, this award recognises the most valuable advisory firm in the world of FinTech and alternative finance. Fox Williams previously won the Legal Advisory Firm of the Year Award in 2016 and 2018, and was the runner-up in 2017. The new award this year combines the Legal Advisory Firm Of The Year, Consulting And Corporate Advice Firm Of The Year and PR/Marketing Firm/Division of the Year awards from previous years.

The award recognises the advisory firm that has had the greatest impact on the alternative finance market in 2019, scored on four key criteria:

  1. The applicant employs a number of well-known industry commentators/representatives
  2. The applicant is an excellent communicator, and knows how to deal with journalists
  3. The applicant is a go-to source of information on regulation in this space
  4. The applicant has played an active role in shaping policy in this industry, through its work with various governmental groups and bodies.

AltFi is the world’s leading news site for the fast growing alternative finance space, which includes crowdfunding, P2P lending, marketplace lending and invoice funding. The AltFi Awards have been a barometer of success among Europe’s leading alternative finance and fintech businesses for over half a decade.

Jonathan Segal, Partner and Head of FinTech & AltFi at Fox Williams said “We are delighted to have won this award and been recognised again by our peers as the leading advisers in the FinTech and alternative finance space. With the new category this year being open to a wide range of advisory firms, we’re very pleased our work has made such an impact in this space”.

Hot on the heels of this award, Jonathan has also been ranked in the Peer2Peer Finance News ‘P2P Power 50’, which “highlights the exceptional achievements of the talented individuals spearheading the growth of this thriving multi-billion-pound industry. The P2P Power 50 identifies the big names from the largest and fastest growing platforms but also officials from government, regulators, consultancies and law firms, without whom there would be no rules, innovation or product.” Jon is the only private practice lawyer featuring in the P2P Power 50.
