FW advised Volaris Group Inc. (“Volaris”), on its acquisition through its subsidiary, Trapeze Group (“Trapeze”) of Funkwerk Information Technologies York Limited (“Funkwerk”), a subsidiary of Funkwerk Technologies GmbH.
Funkwerk has over 20 years of experience and extensive technological background in the Rail-IT sector. The company provides software solutions for planning, simulation and management of railway operations and infrastructure. Funkwerk’s customers include regional and long-distance railway operators, tram, metro and freight operators and infrastructure providers worldwide. Trapeze provides some of the most advanced software, intelligent transportation systems and mobile technologies in the industry. The acquisition further enhances Trapeze’s enterprise offering with advanced planning, operational management and simulation software tools for the Rail industry.
Working closely with Volaris’ excellent in-house legal team, Head of Corporate Richie Clark and corporate associate Sharon O’Donnell led the FW team, with assistance from tax partner Emma Bailey and tax associate Jaspal Pachu. CMS Cameron McKenna LLP acted for the seller.
