UKFT Seminar: Agents and distributors in Fashion

Fox Williams partner Stephen Sidkin and associates Emma Roake and Rachel Cook spoke at the UK Fashion and Textile Association seminar “Agents and distributors in fashion” on Wednesday 19 March 2014. The seminar was designed specifically for UK fashion, accessory, and textile businesses using agents and distributors.

Stephen explained (i) what needs to be covered by a distributorship agreement and (ii) the issues which arise on termination of a distributorship agreement including the distributor’s ability to claim damages. View Stephen’s videos on distributors: part one and part two.

Emma discussed (i) the issues to be addressed in an agency agreement, including the agent’s duties and minimum sales requirements and (ii) the basis on which an agent is entitled to a statutory indemnity payment on termination of the agency. View Emma’s videos on agents: part one and part two.
