Professional Services

Our partnership practice is recognised as being the UK market leader. It is something we are rather proud of and, for our clients, we hope the benefits are equally clear.

Our many years of experience of advising partnerships and LLPs give us an unrivalled depth of understanding of the management and regulation of professional businesses. Our practical experience and negotiating skills help clients to formulate the most effective strategies and to resolve sensitive contentious issues discreetly.

When appropriate, we take whatever steps are necessary to enforce partnership rights by litigation or arbitration. We also use mediation extensively to settle disputes, enabling clients to get on with the task of running a business without engaging in expensive and time-consuming proceedings.

We advise many firms and individuals in the professional services sector, including solicitors, accountants, surveyors, architects, barristers’ chambers, patent agents, doctors and dentists.

We are instructed by firms, groups and individual partners. Our practice covers advice on setting up (both for national and international firms), partnership and LLP agreements, strategic and management issues of all kinds, partners (or teams) joining and leaving, restrictive covenant issues, professional regulation and discipline, national and international mergers and other combinations and dissolution.

Financial Services: Our professional services team also advises many firms in the financial services sector, where partnerships, LLPs and limited partnerships are frequently used vehicles.

As market leaders, we are active within our own field of expertise: the multi-disciplinary Association of Partnership Practitioners was founded by lawyers at Fox Williams.

In addition to our expertise in partnership and LLP law and practice, we provide employment, commercial, immigration, real estate, dispute resolution and tax expertise tailored for professional and financial services firms.
