I am a partner in Fox Williams' technology team. I specialise in technology and business contracts and help clients comply with data protection (GDPR) and privacy laws.

Nigel is a founding partner of Fox Williams LLP and leads the firm’s technology and data protection group.

Nigel specialises in business contracts (supply of services or goods); technology contracts (software development, licensing, cloud, SaaS); data protection (privacy policies, cyber security, international transfers, data security); intellectual property (licensing, acquisition or disposal of IPR); online matters (terms of service, compliance with online regulations).

The clients for whom he acts include professional and financial services firms, fintechs, technology vendors and online businesses. They range from multinational corporations to SMEs, start-ups and individual entrepreneurs.

Nigel acts for many US, Canadian and Israeli tech companies and professional and financial services firms, either directly or through their local subsidiaries, and is head of the firm’s Israel desk.

Nigel is a Certified Information Privacy Professional/Europe – CIPP/E – and a Fellow, and past Chair, of the UK Society for Computers & Law ( He is also a past President of the International Federation of Computer Law Associations ( He is a member of the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) and the US iTechLaw Association and is a regular speaker at tech and tech law conferences.  He is featured in “Who’s Who Legal: Data 2023”.

  • Acted for Canadian tech company Audienceview on UK SaaS licences and GDPR compliance.

  • Advised US tech group Connexity, Inc (Shopzilla, Bizrate and Hitwise brands) on UK tech and data matters.

  • Advised Volaris Group Inc. on data protection aspects of its acquisition of the Nokia Video product business.

  • Advised AIM company Plexus Holdings plc on the licensing of its POS-GRIP friction grip technology for wellhead exploration for jack-up applications to TechnipFMC.

  • Advised award-winning, ‘API Only’ technology provider Yapily Ltd on licensing its Open Banking API platform.

  • Advised on the tech and data aspects of the sale of leading mobile and fixed line solutions provider, Adam Phones Limited, to Radius Payment Solutions Limited.

  • Acted for the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) in relation to GDPR compliance.
