The road to becoming an accomplished lawyer is an exciting journey. Securing a training contract at the right firm is an important first step towards that goal. At Fox Williams, you’ll join a firm focused on the needs of its clients and working collaboratively to achieve this.

Our commitment to trainees allows you to make the most out of your career. You’ll find a rewarding, fast-paced environment where you feel challenged to excel, but always fully supported. Through our collegiate approach you will be guided at all times by senior members of staff and given a thorough grounding in the legal world through regular workshops which go beyond black letter law by focusing on commercial know-how and technical legal expertise too.

Your day-to-day learning is the most crucial training you will receive which is why we take on only a select number of trainees per year. You will be given a significant amount of one-to-one partner contact as well as regular interaction with our clients to give you a broad and varied legal understanding.

Your journey at Fox Williams starts by applying for our training contracts and on the pages below, we explain what you can expect when you join Fox Williams as a trainee and how we’ll support your career at the firm.

Our application process for our training roles has now closed.

We will now start scoring and assessing each application.

Successful applicants following the initial scoring and assessment will be invited to complete a verbal analysis test.

This is the final assessment. Candidates who score well in the verbal analysis test will be asked to answer a series of questions via video in real time about yourself and your experience as well as your understanding of the firm what we do. This will be reviewed by HR and our lawyers.

Successful candidates following the video interview will receive an invitation to join us for one of the two Vac Scheme weeks.

Spending the whole week in the office, you will get an immersion into life as a Fox Williams lawyer. You’ll meet our legal team, have time to work on your assessments and we’ll give you the opportunity to really show off your professional skills.

We will arrange individual calls with all candidates to share feedback on their performance during the Vac Scheme Week. We will then make training contract offers to successful candidates.
