During the webinar, our speakers discussed the following topics:

  • Buyer beware: what brands need to know when hiring – or losing – senior staff.

The recruitment of senior fashion executives is booming, but hiring staff or facing the prospect of key employees leaving is not always a straightforward process. Grace Waterhouse highlights key issues for employers to ensure their recruitment processes and employment contracts reflect current case law and how to avoid the many pitfalls during the process.

  • Fashion and social media – what is happening and how can brands protect themselves?

Simon Bennett brings you up to date with the issues that fashion brands are experiencing when using – or being used – on social media. And when use is unauthorised what brands can do.

  • Greenwashing – why fashion businesses need to be wary of the new Green Claims Code from the Competition and Markets Authority.

Making environmental claims for your brand is one thing. Falling foul of the new Green Claims Code – and the law which underpins it – is another. Lucy Coffey identifies the dos and don’ts.

  • Pricing and the law – changes and no changes for 2022, what fashion brands need to know and how they will be affected.

The UK’s competition watchdog, the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA), takes a strong stance against brands and retailers that seek to limit or prohibit online sales and control prices. But good news – the CMA is currently consulting on revising the competition rules. Early indications suggest that there may be a change in the approach to dual-pricing and other restrictions. Emma Roake does some crystal ball gazing.
