Chris is a partner in our financial services practice. He advises national and international (re)insurers, payment services providers, PEVC fund managers, and brokers on UK and European regulatory issues.

He also advises them on the negotiation and drafting of their commercial contracts, and product terms and conditions.

Chris commented in the November 2017 edition of Payments and FinTech Lawyer on the financial “advice gap” and whether Robo-advice will help in the medium term.

He recently co-authored the UK chapter of Chambers first Global Practice Guide for FinTech. The 2018 guide provides expert legal commentary on key issues for businesses and covers the important developments in the most significant jurisdictions.

The Legal 500 describes Chris as “knowledgeable and pragmatic”, someone who provides "practical, commercial and responsive" regulatory advice to insurers, private equity and venture capital fund managers and Fintech companies. Chambers & Partners describe him as a "notable practitioner".

Chris qualified in private practice in 1996. His experience includes almost a decade working in General Counsel’s Division at the UK’s Financial Services Authority.

Chris joined Fox Williams as a partner in April 2017.

"Excellent experience and insight into regulatory issues and the regulator's approach"
(Legal 500, 2019)
