Sona Ganatra is a Partner in the Dispute Resolution practice at Fox Williams, having previously been part of the Dispute Resolution and the White Collar Crime and Regulatory practice groups at White & Case LLP for 9 years.

Sona has worked primarily with large corporate and banking clients and specialises in financial services regulatory issues, disciplinary and internal investigations, and bribery and corruption offences, as well as having extensive experience of commercial litigation and international arbitration.  Sona has advised upon a wide range of matters including suspected market abuse, disciplinary action taken by the AADB, foreign regulatory investigations, internal corporate and employee fraud and bribery, whistle blowing, contractual disputes and shareholder disputes.

Sona was seconded to the Enforcement Division of the Financial Services Authority in 2004.  This proved to be an invaluable insight into regulatory investigations and disciplinary actions of the FSA.  Sona provided advice on breaches of the UK financial services regulatory regime, appeared before the Regulatory Decisions Committee and participated in settlement discussions with financial institutions.

She has also published numerous articles and led training sessions in relation to financial services regulatory issues and obligations under the Bribery Act 2010, Fraud Act 2006 and money laundering regulations.  She is a solicitor advocate (higher courts civil).

Sona graduated from Kings College, London with a degree in Law in 2000 and went on to complete her Legal Practice Course at the College of Law in 2001, where she obtained a distinction and was awarded the Roger Leyland Memorial Prize. She trained at White & Case’s London office and qualified in September 2003.

Sona is attending the IBA Transnational Crime Conference in Krakow 16 - 18 May 2018.

‘An expert on UK banking regulation’, Sona Ganatra regularly represents senior executives who are subject to regulatory investigations.
