Fox Williams LLP acted for Scientific Digital Imaging Plc (“SDI” or “the Company”) in connection with its introduction to the AIM market of London Stock Exchange Plc on 8 December 2008 (“Admission”). Based in Cambridge with a presence in the United States, SDI’s business is focussed on the application of digital imaging technology to the needs of the scientific community. Grant Thornton UK LLP were appointed as SDI’s nominated adviser and Dowgate Capital Stockbrokers Limited were appointed as broker to the Company.

The Fox Williams team acting on the Admission consisted of Richie Clark (Partner), James Channo (Senior Associate), Sharon O’Donnell (Associate) and Rebecca Ekundayo (Trainee Solicitor).

Prior to Admission, Fox Williams also recently acted for SDI in relation to the acquisition of two companies, UK-based Artemis CCD Limited (“Artemis”) and Portuguese-based Perseu Comércio de Equipamento Para Informática e Astronomia SA (“Perseu”), and advised Synoptics Limited, the Company’s main operating subsidiary, on the reduction of its share capital. Artemis is a company engaged in the design of specialised cameras capable of detecting low levels of light, which are suitable for use by astronomers and in the field of life-science imaging. These cameras are sold under licence by Perseu, which is also responsible for the marketing and distribution of the cameras to the astronomy market under the ‘Atik Instruments’ brand.
