Fox Williams acted for a syndicate of investors on the acquisition of the European operations of AdvanSA from parent company Sabanci Holding, the holding company of Sabanci Group, one of Turkey’s largest industrial and financial conglomerates.
AdvanSA is a leading supplier of polyester fibre, filament and specialties in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, headquartered in The Netherlands. The acquisition will enable the company to continue with all of its current operations in Europe, including the polyester staple fibre production plant in Germany.
The acquisition team was led by Heinrich Meierkord, the general manager of AdvanSA’s European operations, who is based in Uentrop, Germany. Mr Meierkord commented:
“AdvanSA B.V.’s strong portfolio of brands, technology and technical fibres will continue to be at the heart of our strategy, while the ownership change secures the long term future of the business and will also reinforce AdvanSA B.V.’s position as a leader in sustainable polyester fibre production”.
The Fox Williams’ team was led by corporate partner Steve Barnett, with assistance from Steve Sidkin (partner), Sian Barr (associate) and Jane Spiers (associate) on a number of related commercial agreements.
Steve Barnett commented:
“The management team invested a huge amount of time and effort in this transaction. We are very pleased to have helped them achieve their objectives and are sure that the AdvanSA business will go from strength to strength under its new owners”.
