Fox Williams LLP senior associate Romella Manning-Brown discusses David Moyes’ departure from Manchester United

In an interview with Ian Payne, LBC Radio, Romella explained that Moyes’ contract would have been carefully negotiated by both his lawyer and those of Manchester United football club. She also commented that there may be clauses in Moyes’ contract which could reduce the proportion of the remaining years on his contract which will be payable to him based on his performance during his time as manager, for example, Manchester United failing to qualify for the Champions League next season.  She also told how the contract might permit any amounts payable in respect of the remaining years to be reduced if Moyes is subsequently employed by another club.
