Fox Williams recently advised TripBod on the sale of its business and assets to TripAdvisor, the world’s biggest travel website.
Tripbod is a marketplace whereby tourists can connect with local experts who share their local knowledge and help tourists uncover hidden local gems about their chosen holiday destination.
TripAdvisor provides directory information and contains over 150 million customer reviews. It also includes interactive travel forums and was an early adopter of user-generated content.
As part of the transaction, two employees of TripBod, including founder Sally Boom, will join TripAdvisor.
Sally Broom said: “When you’re selling your company you want a team around you as passionate and committed as you are. That’s what Fox Williams delivered – a driven team to execute an excellent deal”.
Paul Taylor, Partner at Fox Williams, commented: “We’re delighted to have helped Sally sell TripBod, and wish her all the best with her exciting new start at TripAdvisor. It’s also good to see large corporates such as TripAdvisor continuing to draw down on the substantial cash reserves that they have built up over these past few years.”.
Corporate partner Paul Taylor led the Fox Williams’ team and was assisted by corporate associate Elliot Cowan.
