Fox Williams advised the Perseus operating group (“Perseus”) of Constellation Software on its recent acquisition of Catalyst Computer Systems, a leading business management software supplier to specialised trades and dealers.

Catalyst’s acquisition further expands Perseus’s presence in the United Kingdom’s dealership software markets, having already established a strong presence via its 2012 acquisition of Ibcos – a leading business software supplier to agricultural, groundscare and construction dealers. Overall, Catalyst marks Perseus’s ninth acquisition in the dealership software market, and is now part of the Constellation Dealer Group, which includes industry-leading businesses like Integrated Dealer Systems (IDS), Dealer Information Systems (DIS), Ideal Computer Systems and c-Systems Software.

Catalyst intends to continue support to all the markets it currently serves, including motorcycle, caravan and motorhome, car, logistics and road haulage, retail sales, trade counter and order distribution and agricultural machinery.

Working closely with the Perseus in-house team, the Fox Williams team was led by Richie Clark, Head of corporate, principally assisted by corporate associates Freddie De Boise and Priya Mattu,  Head of tax Emma Bailey and tax director Joanne Varia and real estate partner Elizabeth Ruff and real estate associate Mary Majewska.

Richie Clark commented:  “We were delighted to help Perseus successfully complete this acquisition and enhance its reach within the UK’s dealership software sphere, having previously advised on the Ibcos acquisition in 2012.”
