Fox Williams has advised Outward VC on their investment in fintech start-up ClearGlass Analytics, as part of its £2.6m seed round.

Outward VC is a venture capital fund backing the next generation of European fintech and enterprise technology. The fund invests early stage in ambitious and talented entrepreneurs looking to scale companies that solve significant problems within large global markets. Outward’s portfolio includes category leaders such as Curve, Monese and PrimaryBid.

The £2.6m seed round included Lakestar VC and several angel investors from both the asset management and pension fund worlds including Chris Wilcox, former Global Head of JP Morgan Asset Management and Richard Butcher, chair of the Pensions and Lifetime Savings Association (PLSA), the UK pension trade body.

ClearGlass is working to promote fee transparency in the long-term savings market, believing that if you have placed your money with a third party to keep it safe or make it grow, then you need to know exactly how you are being charged.

Partner Guy Morgan led the Fox Williams team on the transaction and commented: “Once again it was a pleasure to work with Outward VC, following on from a previous eXate investment we also advised on. Fox Williams is a City law firm with strong expertise in the fintech and technology sectors, and this deal further showcases our capabilities in the space.”
