US computer games company, Activision Blizzard revealed recently that it had let go three dozen employees and disciplined another 40 since July 2021 to address allegations of sexual harassment and other misconduct at the company. Meanwhile in the UK, the government has proposed a legal requirement for employers to take “all reasonable steps” to prevent sexual harassment at work.
This course will explain in greater detail what the government proposals actually mean in practice for employers and how employers can respond most appropriately to them. Attendees will receive the relevant technical guidance in relation to the prevention of (sexual) harassment at work and will be directed as to what steps they as employers should be taking now in response to tackling and/or preventing workplace harassment.
Additionally, delegates will get a detailed understanding of when an employer may take action relating to an event outside of work such as a personal social media post and what a ‘fair process’ requires in these circumstances. By examining best practice and learning from real-life examples this course will give you the tools you need to minimise the risk of workplace harassment to your company.
