Fox Williams is supporting the new CityCentury solicitor apprentice initiative.

CityCentury is a career-creation collaboration that allows talented candidates to qualify as solicitors through the solicitor apprentice route, studying alongside working as a credible alternative to the traditional full-time university route.

The initiative is a collaboration among over 50 City law firms and allows a wider pool of aspiring lawyers to access great City legal careers. Candidates will gain invaluable working insights from within their employers as they attain their legal qualifications. They will also receive a law degree and both parts of the Solicitors Qualification Exam becoming solicitors after six years of work and study.

Fox Williams aims to employ its first solicitor apprentice cohort in September 2024 and will collaborate with other employers to grow this qualification route.

Senior Partner, Gavin Foggo, says: “CityCentury is a fantastic initiative, originating from the City of London Law Society, which will provide students with access to a legal career which may otherwise have not been available.

“We are keenly aware of the importance of being part of a group to promote apprenticeships. Equally, we must take collective responsibility to provide better access to the legal sector – something that is vital for its continued success.

“Supporting the CityCentury initiative also complements our existing partnership with social mobility charity, upReach.”
