Real estate partner Simon Smith retires from Fox Williams LLP at the end of March. He joined the partnership, together with real estate partner Elizabeth Ruff and corporate partner Paul Taylor, from the London office of Faegre & Benson, formerly Hobson Audley, in 2008.

Simon has provided valued counsel to a wide range of clients, including leading developers and landlords, over the years. They each have benefited from Simon’s commercial acumen, pragmatism, dependability and deep knowledge of property law. During his career he has been at the heart of developments in real estate, advising on the acquisition and disposal of investment property, major portfolio management, investments and secured lending, corporate real estate, commercial leasing and landlord and tenant law.

Partner and head of Fox Williams’ real estate team Phillip Hope said: “Simon has been a much valued colleague whom I wish to thank personally for his generosity in sharing his deep experience in real estate and for his dedication. Thanks in no small part to Simon and Liz, our team has gone from strength to strength. Today we are in good shape, with Scott Keown joining as a partner and Rebecca Evans promoted to legal director last year, together with our strong associate team of Tom Morton, Mary Majewska, Stephen Browne, Rebecca Facey and Scott Hilton. The clients Simon has advised are in capable hands and we are as committed to them today as when they first instructed Simon.”
