Continuing our partnership with UpReach, Fox Williams volunteers Norajane Egbulefu, Rebecca Facey and Nicole Wong led week three of the UpReach virtual internship programme, which commenced on 13 July 2020.
The Fox Williams team presented to 30 students about how law firms are structured, considering the different practice areas, industry sectors and jurisdictions that a firm might work in. The aim was to give the students a better understanding of private practice and, in turn, enable them improve their commercial awareness, streamline their graduate applications and, ultimately, improve their performance at interviews and assessments.
The week concluded with presentations from the students judged by the Fox Williams team, who provided feedback on the day and subsequently through more formal scoring. The quality of the presentations was impressive and demonstrated the effort that went into preparing the slides and researching the topic.
We are pleased to see that the students equally enjoyed the experience. Feedback from the programme included: ‘Super interesting and informative’; ‘Great information – friendly volunteers who were happy to answer any questions’; ‘Really informative and lots of pointers for how to approach the group project’.
Thank you to UpReach and to our Fox Williams volunteers for a successful virtual event.
