The sixth Fox Williams Pre-Moot will be held for the third time in association with the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. The 2021 Pre-Moot will be preceded by a panel debate for practitioners and team coaches, hosted by Fox Williams, on the afternoon of Friday 26 February 2021.

Please note that this year both the pre-moot and debate will be held virtually.

Last year’s Pre-Moot saw a very close contest, with the University of Cambridge crowned the winners with the National Research University, Higher School of Economics, Moscow awarded the runner-up prize.

Peter Ashford, partner and co-head of international arbitration at Fox Williams, will host the Pre-Moot, together with members of the Fox Williams International Arbitration team and the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, prior to attending (virtually) as a judge at the Vis Moot in March 2021.

Peter Ashford said: “Since this will be the first year that our Pre-Moot will be held virtually, we have been heavily oversubscribed with applications from teams. With the majority of arbitrations now taking place virtually, our format will also test competitors’ skills in our current on-line environment.”

Teams that applied to take part in the Pre-Moot will hear shortly whether they have been awarded a place. Those wishing to volunteer to sit as an arbitrator should contact premoot@foxwilliams.com
