Fox Williams has advised the shareholders of GlobalInvestor.com Limited on the sale of independent publisher Harriman House to Pan Macmillian, one of the largest general book publishers in the UK.

Harriman House, founded in 1992, is based in Petersfield and has built a globally recognised reputation for its finance, investing and business books. For Pan Macmillian, the acquisition strengthens their reach in the US and delivers on their strategy to expand its non-fiction market.

Corporate partner Mary Elliott and senior associate Chien-Wei Lui led the deal team. They were assisted by corporate associate Georgie Glover and trainee solicitor Gia Andreou.

Employment partner Daisy Jones and associate Grace Waterhouse also assisted, along with tax director Joanne Varia and partner Emma Bailey, technology partner Nigel Miller and associate Vladimir Arutyunyan.

Mary Elliott commented: “We are delighted to have been invited to work with the GlobalInvestor.com shareholders and Harriman House on this deal. Our corporate expertise combined with our in-depth knowledge of the publishing sector has resulted in a successful outcome for all parties.”
