We invite you to join us at our offices for the next of our highly-regarded HRLaw training sessions, this time on the topic of mental health.
Following the recent controversy over UK Prime Minister, Rishi Sunak’s, comments concerning the country’s “sicknote culture”, managing employees with mental health issues is in the spotlight. For some staff, the prospect of discussing a mental health issue with their employer could be perceived as risky, due to fears of discrimination and even possibly dismissal.
Our HRLaw training session will explore the evolving law and guidance around mental health at work.
Aimed at HR professionals, managers, and in-house legal teams, the course uses examples and scenarios, which are played out by professional actors to bring these important employment issues to life.
You will observe how each scene unfolds and then make suggestions for how to improve the approach. The actors will then replay the scene, taking on board your suggestions and allowing you to learn from seeing what works in practice. Rest assured, no acting or role play from you will be required!
Previous feedback highlighted how this approach helps attendees absorb the topic more easily than a conventional training session.
This year, we will explore two scenarios:
The session will be led by Selwyn Blyth, who trained and practised as an employment lawyer. Selwyn specialises in training HR teams and managers in dealing with workplace issues effectively and has delivered popular HRLaw training sessions at Fox Williams for a number of years.
There is no cost to attend the session. Limited places are available on a first-come, first-served basis and we expect demand to be high.
