We invite you to attend our third HRLaw webinar of 2024, which will be held at 9.00am on Thursday 19 September.

Following the announcement in the King’s Speech that the government will legislate to ban exploitative practices and enhance employment rights, and amend and modernise the immigration system, we invite you to join our webinar.

As more information on potential legislation is revealed over the summer, and with reference to Labour’s Plan to Make Work Pay, we will update you on the most recent developments as they occur, including a focus on the following:

  • Unfair dismissal rights from day one and the use of probation periods
  • Flexible working as the ‘default position’ and the right to switch off
  • Introduction of a single enforcement body and the extended limitation period
  • Introduction of collective grievances, potential collective pay agreements, and the resurgence of Trade Union activity in all sectors
  • Single status of ‘worker’ and changes to parental leave within the first year of government
  • Addressing skills shortages through possible changes to the immigration system.

At the end of the webinar, there will be an opportunity to raise questions with our speakers either in the open Q&A session or privately afterwards.

We welcome HR professionals, in-house lawyers, and executives who deal with employment matters.
