Fox Williams has appointed Miah Phillips as a partner in its Financial Services team, joining on 18 December. Miah’s appointment builds further depth in the firm’s financial services and fintech capability at a time when clients navigating significant regulatory change and scrutiny.
Miah’s practice spans e-money and payments, consumer finance, financial crime, e-commerce, and strategic partnerships and outsourcing arrangements. She is particularly focused on helping clients respond to complex regulatory change, including PISA and DORA, as well as reforms affecting payments and consumer credit that will affect new and existing products and services.
Miah has held senior roles in private practice and in-house, including at Osborne Clarke, Paul Hastings and, Goldman Sachs, and most recently at Apple, where she was Chief Compliance Officer for Apple’s UK regulated entity.
Miah understands the complex task clients face in balancing regulatory risk with the vision and pace of fintech. Her experience working closely with product and engineering teams, boards and senior management, has earned her recognition for advice that translates regulatory requirements into clear priorities and legal solutions that support delivery and protect the customer proposition.
