Fox Williams launches new HR Law Training programme for HR teams

January 14, 2016

The employment team at City solicitors Fox Williams has launched a new service for HR professionals, managers and in-house legal teams who wish to develop and test their practical employment law related knowledge and skills in a safe environment, in preparation for the real-life situations that arise in their day-by-day work.

The interactive training sessions use a range of innovative techniques to help delegates learn about the subject matter and gain confidence in transferring their knowledge to the situations that arise in the workplace. Additionally, delegates will be able to network and to benchmark their approach with other participating organisations.

HR Law Training is delivered by training consultant Selwyn Blyth, in partnership with members of Fox Williams’ leading employment team. Selwyn trained and practised as an employment lawyer and, over the last 10 years, has specialised in training HR teams and managers in dealing effectively with workplace issues.

Head of the employment team at Fox Williams, Jane Mann, said: “HR professionals play a critical role in securing the reputation of their organisations, handling sensitive matters at all levels. Our experience of advising HR teams on a wide range of issues means that we understand how important it is to maintain relevant knowledge and confidence in dealing with these issues. Our first HR Law Training programme addresses key topics that our clients have told us are relevant to their business.”

Training consultant Selwyn Blyth commented: “This training is different from traditional ‘chalk and talk’ style seminars on legal topics. Whether a delegate’s focus is compliance or best practice, individuals will be able to test their practical skills and knowledge in a positive environment. Delegates return to the workplace confident that they have the practical knowledge to handle the topic when it arises in the course of their working day.”
