Romans joined the firm in February 2024, after training and qualifying as a solicitor at the Bank of China. Romans has experience advising on a broad range of financial services regulatory matters, including banking, payments and e-money, insurance, crypto, derivatives, and investments.

Prior to commencing his career in law, Romans studied law at the University of Latvia and the University of Cambridge and completed Chinese language studies at the Beijing Language and Culture University. In addition to English, Romans speaks Latvian and Russian fluently, with some French and Chinese.

Romans is a member of the Fox Williams ESG sector focus group.
