Fox Williams acted as lead legal counsel advising on the sale of One Ashford Hospital and One Hatfield Hospital to Phoenix Hospital Group, one of the UK’s leading independent healthcare providers. Corporate partner Guy Morgan led the Fox Williams team, assisted by corporate legal director Beth Silkin, corporate associate Hollie Allen and trainee solicitor Joseph Cannon. Real estate partner Nish Kapoor and legal director Rebecca Facey led on the real estate aspects of the deal and legal director Tom Pennington-Hare advised on employment matters.
One Ashford Hospital opened in March 2016 and One Hatfield Hospital opened in December 2017. As well as providing full surgical services, both are equipped with state-of-the-art diagnostic and imaging equipment to help specialists provide a timely and accurate diagnosis.
The acquisition will allow Phoenix to add to its growing portfolio of state-of-the-art medical centres and expand its successful model of high-quality, patient-centric care to new markets in Kent and Hertfordshire.
